About

I completed my PhD in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh. My research focuses on state-society relations, civil society, youth politics, and public opinion in contemporary China.

My dissertation project focuses on Chinese universities and how a system of political compliance is institutionalized. I examine the phenomenon of unregistered (feizhuce 非注册) and underground (dixia 地下) student organizations to investigate how those institutions of control can be challenged or undermined.

I am currently a Data Science Curriculum Developer with the Research Computing Education Initiative at the University of Pittsburgh, where I am developing asynchronous learning guides on Python coding.
